Subway to expand Polish restaurant network by 40% in 2011

Subway, the US fast-food restaurant chain, plans to open 15 new restaurants in Poland this year, as part of a regional expansion drive that is to take its store network in Central and Eastern Europe above 400 by the end of this year, up from 230 at the moment.

Apart from adding new restaurants in the biggest cities, such as Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow and Szczecin, the US company aims to enter several new urban markers in 2011, including Radom, Radomsko and Kielce.

At present Subway has 38 restaurants in Poland, all operated under the franchise model.
