NWR to invest €50m in Debiensko in 2011

New World Resources (NWR), the Warsaw-listed Czech mining group, announced plans to spend €50m on capital expenditures in Poland this year. The planned investments are related to the company’s Debiensko coal deposits in the Slaskie voivodship, whose development is expected to begin later this year. In a statement, NWR said that it was in the process of preparing a detailed feasibility study on the project and that initial development work should start in the middle of 2011.

Last year NWR said it would spend €350m over five years on developing the Debiensko mine. According to initial estimates, the new Debiensko mine could create 3,000 jobs.
