P&G to enlarge Warsaw plant in PLN 100m project

Procter & Gamble (P&G), the US consumer-goods concern, has received the green-light for a major expansion of its factory of diapers in Warsaw, in the local sub-zone of the Lodz Special Economic Zone. The company will invest at least PLN 100m (approx. €26m) in extra capacity at the Warsaw plant to make Pampers baby wipes there, from September 2012.

P&G pledged to create at least 20 new jobs and safeguard 40 existing ones. However, both the value of the project and the number of new jobs are likely to be higher. Malgorzata Mejer, the spokeswoman of the group’s Polish operation, said that it should bring 70 jobs over the next five years, and that the value will be in the tens of millions of US dollars.
