New foreign investments in the LSSE

The Lodz Special Economic Zone (LSSE) has officially approved nine new investment projects, worth a total of PLN 360m (over €90m) and expected to bring nearly 770 new jobs. They include several (re)investments by foreign companies.

Thus, Procter & Gamble (P&G) will build a plant making tissues for infants in the Warsaw sub-zone of the LSSE. The investment, worth “several tens of millions of US dollars”, will create about 60 new jobs (see the news item 'P&G to enlarge Warsaw plant in PLN 100m project'). It will be P&G’s fourth plant in the zone.

Coco-Werk, a German maker of plastic parts for the white goods industry, will invest at least PLN 33m (€8.4m) to build a second plant in Nowy Jozefow. The facility will employ 30 workers, bringing total headcount at the LSSE complex to 230.

WinCup, a leading global maker of foam disposable cups, bowls, containers and lids, will build a factory in Konstantynow Lodzki at a cost of PLN 20m (€5.1m), creating minimally 155 jobs.

And Schweitzer-Mauduit International, a New-York listed manufacturer of products for the tobacco industry, will invest an additional PLN 8m (€2m) in extra capacity at its plant in the Strykow sub-zone to meet rising demand. The project will create 10 new jobs and safeguard 90 existing ones.
