Intrum Iustitia to open BPO centre in Bialystok

Intrum Iustitia, the global credit management services group headquartered in Sweden, will open an operations centre in Bialystok later this year, Puls Biznesu reported, citing senior local officials.

Initially the unit will employ 70 people, but the number could rise to 120. Recruitment is already in progress, and the facility could start operations in April. Intrum Iustitia will lease for at least 11 years 1,300 m2 of space at a converted former army barracks.

The project is seen as crucial for Bialystok as it will be the first BPO facility to be located in the Eastern city. There are hopes that it will help attract more such investments in the future.

Bialystok is an important academic centre. Its higher education institutions put out around 10,000 graduates a year.
