HP to increase employment at Wroclaw service centre by 20%

2011-01-16

Hewlett-Packard (HP), the US computer group, plans to add up to 400 new jobs at its Global Business Centre in Wroclaw this year, a reflection of the unit’s growing role within HP’s worldwide operations. The new jobs will be in areas such as finance, accounting, HR and personnel management, customer service, marketing or project management.

In 2010 the centre created 650 new jobs, the biggest annual increase since it was established in 2005, taking the total to 2,030. The expansion came thanks to new customers and new business from existing clients (they include multinational firms from sectors such as e.g. FMCG, pharmaceuticals, clothing).

Jacek Levernes, Vice President Global Business Services HP EMEA, said that the goal of the Wroclaw unit was to become the key BPO centre for HP’s European operations, and that the US firm had long-term development plans for the unit.
