KSSE’s 2010 was below expectations but much better than 2009

The Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE) reported a major rise in both the number and combined value of investment projects approved in the course of 2010, as well as in the number of jobs to be created as a result, compared with 2009, despite missing its official targets for this year.

The KSSE approved a total of 23 new investment projects in 2010 worth a combined PLN 823.5m (approx. €205m), up from 13 and PLN 300m (€75m), respectively, in 2009. Several new projects are in the pipeline, likely to be finalised in January 2011.

The KSSE, which is the largest zone in Poland, has had its area enlarged by nearly 25% to 1,910 hectares in early 2010.
