Danske Bank lifts economic outlook for Poland

Danske Bank, the leading Scandinavian financial services group, has raised its projection of economic growth in Poland this year and next, following better-than-expected GDP figures for the third quarter of 2010.

The bank estimates that the Polish economy will expand by 4% this year, sharply higher than its previous forecast of 3.1%. In 2011 growth is to accelerate further to 4.8%, according to Danske, compared with 4.6% that the bank predicted in September. For 2012 Danske is forecasting GDP growth in Poland of 4.4%.

It is the second upward revision of Danske’s growth forecast for Poland in three months.
