Goodrich moves to construct $50m plant in Rzeszow

Goodrich, the US supplier of systems and services for the aerospace and defence industries, has initiated preparations for the construction of a second factory in Poland, at an estimated cost of more than $50m (approx. €36m). The plant will be located in Rzeszow, near the Rzeszow-Jasionka international airport, at the heart of the local aviation hub. It is scheduled to start operations in the second quarter of 2012 and will employ approximately 250 people.

The project was first announced in 2008, when the company received permission to operate in the Euro-Park Mielec Special Economic Zone, but has been beset by delays. According to earlier reports, the plant will make bearings for aircraft landing gear.

Goodrich already has a factory of aircraft landing gear in nearby Krosno that employs over 400 people.
