Microsoft opens software development centre in Wroclaw
Microsoft, the US software concern, on 29 September launched a software development centre in Wroclaw, its first facility of this type in Poland.
The centre will among other things develop applications for mobile phones and for Ciao, Microsoft’s price-comparison website active in seven of Europe’s largest markets. The investment is a consequence of Microsoft’s 2008 acquisition of Ciao, which had a branch in Wroclaw.
At the moment the unit employs 70 people, about half of whom are software developers. The US firms aims to hire a further 70 staff by the end of 2011.
