PLN 9bn in investments covered by long-term support programmes in 2009

Investments carried out within the framework of long-term programmes supporting investment projects created nearly 24,000 new jobs and were worth almost PLN 9bn (approx. €2.1bn) in 2009, according to the Ministry of Economy.
Last year 40 long-term programmes were implemented, mostly in aid of projects in the electronics sector, which represented 63% of the total value of investments that benefited from the programmes. The cost of those programmes for the state budget is estimated at PLN 118m (€27m).
Moreover, the government set up nine new long-term programmes in 2009, which are expected to result in investments worth PLN 1.5bn (€375m) and create about 2,400 new jobs.
