Delphi relocating some of its production to Poland

Delphi Packard, a US supplier of electronics and technologies mainly used by the automotive industry, plans to shift its wire harness manufacturing operations from the Czech Republic to Poland and Romania, AutomotiveSuppliers.pl reported. One cheaper location being considered by the company is its Polish plant in Jelesnia (Slaskie voivodship).
Delphi's Czech operations, based at its factory in Ceska Lipa, are to be wound down by the end of May 2011 and 1,400 employees will be made redundant.
