Ikea’s finance arm moves into Poland

Ikano Bank, the financial arm of Ikea, the Swedish furniture retailer, has notified regulatory authorities about its intention to enter the Polish market. Aleksandra Sikora, a spokeswoman for Ikea Polska, confirmed that talks were in progress about a consumer finance offering for Polish customers.
Ikea’s Polish retail operation consists of eight stores. In 2009 the company’s revenues in the country jumped by 25% to PLN 1.3bn (approx. €300m). At the moment Ikea has a partnership agreement with Alior Bank.
