Electrolux assures future of Siewierz plant with PLN 10m capacity extension

Electrolux, the Swedish household appliances maker, will invest PLN 10m (approx. €2.6m) to expand capacity at its factory of hair dryers in Siewierz (Slaskie voivodship), in the Katowice Special Economic Zone. The project will result in the creation of 10 new jobs.
While rather small in absolute terms, the investment is highly significant in that it safeguards the continued existence of the factory, whose current permit expires in 2011. In applying for the new permit, Electrolux pledged to maintain all existing jobs at the plant (622) over the next five years.
The new production line is to be launched within months.
Electrolux has four factories in Poland.
