PKC, TBAI (re)hire staff for Polish plants
2010-03-09
Two foreign investors have recently completed or started recruitment for their factories in Poland.
One is PKC Group, a Finnish provider of design and contract manufacturing services for wiring harnesses, cabling and electronics. The company has in recent weeks took on about 60 new employees at its facility in Starachowice (Swietokrzyskie voivodship), in response to a rise in orders. The recruitment drive marks a reversal of fortunes for PKC, which last year was forced to carry out mass lay-offs in Starachowice. The new hires were offered short-term contracts, though.
The other is TBAI, a joint-venture of Toyota Boshoku Corp. and Aisin Seiki Co., which is in the middle of constructing a factory of car seat frames and covers in Nowogrodziec-Wykroty (Dolnoslaskie voivodship), in the Kamienna Gora Special Economic Zone. The zone’s authorities announced that recruitment for the plant has already got underway. According to official plans, the facility – built at an estimated cost of PLN 120m (approx. €31m) – is to employ 420 people. It is scheduled to come online in mid-2011.
