AB Foods to build second plant in Poland

Associated British Foods (AB Foods), a British food, ingredients and retail group, will invest PLN 150-190m (approx. €37-47m) to build a factory in Swarzedz (Wielkopolskie voivodship),
Puls Biznesu has learnt. The new plant – the company's second manufacturing facility in the Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone (KSSSE) – will make Twinings, its brand of premium tea. The investment will result in the creation of 240 new jobs.
AB Foods has so far invested PLN 50m (€12.5m) in Poland. Its first plant, located in Nowa Sol (Lubuskie voivodship), employs 190 people and produces packaged Asian foods for the European market. A second phase of investments at the factory has recently got underway, and its headcount is ultimately to reach 500.
