New investments in Katowice zone
2010-02-17
The Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE) has approved three new investment projects, worth PLN 80m (approx. €19.9m) between them and expected to create 250 jobs. Two are from foreign investors, both involving expansions of existing facilities.
Thus, Lear Corporation, a US supplier of automotive seating systems, will build a new production line at its factory in Tychy; while Saint-Gobain Sekurit HanGlas, a maker of automotive safety glasses, will add capacity at its plant in Dabrowa Gornicza.
In 2010 as a whole the KSSE expects to approve 15 new investments worth approximately PLN 1bn (€248m) and involving the creation of about 1,500 new jobs. This would represent an improvement from 13 permits, PLN 300m (€74.5m) in total investment value and 900 jobs created in 2009.
