Kraft to honour Cadbury’s investment programme in Poland
2010-02-12
Kraft Foods of the US, the new owner of confectionery concern Cadbury, announced that it would stick to Cadbury’s plans to close down its factory in Keynsham near Bristol in England and move the operations to Poland. Kraft had earlier hinted that it might reverse the plan and save the Keynsham facility.
The US company explained that the closure programme was too far advanced to be halted: Cadbury has already invested £100m (approx. €114m) in building
new facilities in Poland and the majority of the production lines are to be installed in the country by mid-2010.
Cadbury owns several factories in Poland: in Bielany Wroclawskie, Skarbimierz, and the former Wedel plant in Warsaw.
