2010-02-08
Poland shot up by 16 notches to 6
th in the world in a global ranking of most-trusted locations for foreign direct investment by AT Kearney, the management consulting firm. It was the biggest gain among the 25 countries covered by 2010 edition of the company’s Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index, indicating a vote of confidence in Poland’s economic strength following its successful handling of the crisis.
China won the ranking, followed by the US, India, Brazil and Germany. Overall, the 2010 edition saw a rise for developed countries (with the exception of the UK), a sign of investors’ quest for safety amid the downturn according to AT Kearney, although China, India and Brazil retained their top-five positions.
The previous edition of the ranking, in 2007, had Poland in 22
nd place after a record drop of 17 places.
The Index is based on interviews with senior executives at the world’s largest companies.
