Norhaven to invest in Szczecin

Norhaven, the Danish printing giant, is set to buy the Szczecin-based Skolwin paper mill, the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) has reported.
The investor will pay PLN 50m (approximately €13m) for the mill. Norhaven also undertakes to invest PLN 20m in modernising the technology park. The money will enable the mill to turn out the highest quality paper for books rather than the paper for newspapers it currently produces.

The Skolwin paper mill has been in difficulties for several years now and has been cutting back both on production and staff levels. The Danish investment will enable the plant to extricate itself from its problems and keep in work the 600 people currently employed at the paper mill and its partner firms.
