Kofola, the Czech juice manufacturer, has opened a production facility in Kutno and is going to increase its share of the Polish market. The company entered Poland at the beginning of 2004 and, after a few months, it decided to invest over PLN 60m (€14.9m) in the construction of the factory. This is the third factory owned by the company: there are two more, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The facility in Kutno will produce mainly for the Polish market, but it could also, if necessary, support the other factories with regard to production for foreign markets. Marian Bajgier, the general director of Kofola’s Polish branch, told Puls Biznesu that the firm will promote two of its brands, Jupik and Jupi, in the very near future. Both of these are to win a 10% share of, respectively, drinks for the children’s market and the soft drinks market. The company has spent several million zloty on advertising campaigns since the beginning of 2004 and has said that more campaigns will follow. Kofola’s products are available in most supermarket chains in Poland. It is also going to launch the second stage of the Kutno project, worth several million euro.
