Carlsberg to invest PLN 190m in Mazowieckie brewery

Carlsberg will invest PLN 187m (approx. €45.1m) in new production capacity at its Kasztelan brewery in Sierpc (Mazowieckie voivodship), as part of a plan to increase its output in Poland by a fifth, to 8.5 million hectolitres a year and gain market share from competitors Kompania Piwowarska and Grupa Zywiec. The new production lines at Sierpc will start operations in mid-2014 and will reach their full capacity by the end of next year.

Carlsberg has recently completed a PLN 60m (€14.5m) investment at its Okocim brewery in Brzesko (Malopolskie voivodship).

In 2012 the company enjoyed a 15% rise in Polish sales, thanks in large part to Euro 2012, and expects to outperform the market this year as well. Its Polish plants are running at full capacity, making 7 million hectolitres of beer a year.
