Krakow zone expanded

The government on 2 January approved a major expansion of the Krakow Special Economic Zone (KSSE). It adds new sites to several existing sub-zones and creates four new ones, in Trzebinia, Dabrowa Tarnowska, Chrzanow, and Czorsztyn, taking the KSSE’s total area above 628 hectares and the number of its sub-zones to 25.

The expansion clears the way for 10 planned investment projects in areas such as automotive components, BPO services, R&D and chemicals, worth a combined PLN 390m (approx. €96m) and expected to create 900 new jobs. The investors include Valeo Autosystemy, Motorola Solutions Systems Polska, Dan Cake Polonia, Can-Pack,, SGL Carbon Polska or SN Super Snow.

Overall, the new sites are expected to attract investments worth over PLN 681m (€167m) and bring 2,500 new jobs.
