Delphi moving more R&D jobs to Krakow

Delphi, the US automotive supplier, will relocate to Krakow nearly 160 research and development jobs from two R&D facilities in France, the French media reported. The decision, which affects more than 70% positions at the two centres, was reportedly motivated by cost considerations. The French engineers are to be offered employment in Poland for lower pay.

Agata Przymusinska, a spokesperson for Delphi’s Polish operation, broadly confirmed the news, without however divulging too many details. She told Puls Biznesu that the relocation was part of a wider overhaul of the company’s engineering operations in the areas of electronics, safety and electrical/electronic architecture.

Delphi’s R&D centre in Krakow currently employs 1,000 people.
