PLN 34.1bn central budget deficit at the end of October


In the first 10 months of 2012 the central budget showed a deficit of just over PLN 34.1bn (approx. €8.1bn), which represents 97.5% of the figure planned for the entire year, according to estimates from the Ministry of Finance.

State budget revenues amounted to PLN 238.1bn (€56.7bn) during this period, while expenditures totalled PLN 272.2bn (€64.8bn), which translates into 81.1% and 82.8% of the entire year’s plan, respectively.

The 2012 budget bill envisages revenues of PLN 293.8bn (€70bn) and expenditures of PLN 328.8bn (€78.3bn), translating into a projected central budget deficit of PLN 35bn (€8.3bn).

By way of comparison, in 2011 the central budget closed with a deficit of PLN 25.1bn (€6.1bn), well below an official target of PLN 40.2bn (€9.8bn).
