Hutchinson to add third plant in Lodz

Hutchinson, a leading global manufacturer of rubber, thermoplastic elastomer and polymer products for the automotive and other sectors, is planning a significant capacity extension at its operations in Lodz, Tomasz Sadzynski, head of the Lodz Special Economic Zone (LSSE), told Puls Biznesu. The French group wants to invest PLN 70m (approx. €17.1m) to build a new plant in the city, its third in the area and sixth in Poland, in a project that would bring 250 new jobs and safeguard 730 existing ones. The plant will reportedly make automotive seals. The investment will go ahead once the Ministry of Economy approves an accompanying expansion of the LSSE.

Apart from the two Lodz plants, Hutchinson also has two factories in Zywiec and one in Bielsko-Biala (both in Slaskie voivodship). They make fluid transfer systems, antivibration systems and seals.

Hutchinson employs nearly 25,500 people at 87 sites in 21 countries.
