Investments in KSSE up by 39% y-o-y in January-September, with 9% rise expected for entire 2012


In the first three quarters of 2012 the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE) secured 15 new investment projects worth a total of PLN 833m (approx. €201m) and expected to bring at least 735 new jobs. By way of comparison, in the first nine months of last year the KSSE issued 14 permits for investment projects worth a combined PLN 600m (€145m) and expected to bring just under new 800 jobs.

As in 2011, many of the new projects are reinvestments. The biggest investments so far this year are by Metsa Tissue (PLN 170m or €41m) and Valeo (PLN 110m or €26.5m).

In 2012 as a whole the KSSE expects to finalise about 20 investment projects with the total value of PLN 1.2bn (€290m). Last year the figures were 20 and PLN 1.1bn (€265m), respectively.
