Nordea expanding Lodz centre

Nordea, the Swedish financial services group, has already hired more staff for its business process outsourcing centre (BPO) in Lodz than it had originally assumed would work there by the end of 2013, and a further expansion is planned next year, Puls Biznesu reported.

The unit currently employs 307 people, compared with an initial plan of 250, and will take up a third floor at its current location in January, Mikolaj Lugowski, head of Nordea Operations Centre at Nordea Bank AB, told the paper. Mr Lugowski would not specify the number of new jobs that are about to be created as a result, but Puls Biznesu reckons it could be in the region of 150-200.

Furthermore, the success of the Lodz centre has persuaded Nordea to open a second such facility in Europe by 2014, Mr. Lugowski revealed. No options have been ruled out and Poland, and even Lodz itself, are among possible locations.
