Europe’s leading miller to invest PLN 42m in Polish plants

GoodMills, the leading milling company in Europe and a top-four player globally, will invest PLN 42m (approx. €10.3m) in Poland over the next three years, as it seeks to complement its dominance in the country’s B2B market with a leadership position in B2C transactions, Rafal Salomon, CEO of GoodMills Polska, said in an interview with Rzeczpospolita.

The investment programme will cover all of the group’s facilities in Poland. It will include capacity extensions at its Polish mills, an expansion of its warehousing base, and productivity-enhancing investments in its packing machines. As part of the plan, its four production units in Poland, Diamant International PMZ, Diamant Stradunia, Aurora Kamionka and Aurora Polska, as well as VK Polska, another local subsidiary, will from 1 October onwards operate under the banner of GoodMills Polska.

Vienna-based GoodMills Group has a total of 29 mills in Central and Eastern Europe that between them process more than 3 million tons of wheat a year, and generates turnover of over €1bn. At present it has subsidiaries in Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. It also owns a minority stake in a leading milling company in Greece.
