Krakow zone negotiating PLN 390m worth of new projects

The Krakow Technology Park (KPT), the company that manages the Krakow Special Economic Zone (KSSE), announced that it is in talks with investors about new projects in the zone worth a total of PLN 390m (approx. €92.7m) and with the potential to create 900 jobs. As part of steps to attract new major investments, the KSSE is currently in the process of expanding its area by nearly 92 hectares, through the enlargement of six existing sub-zones and the creation of four new ones in the Malopolskie voivodship.

KPT has approved 10 new projects so far this year, compared with 12 in the whole of 2011. Importantly, the new approvals are distributed across eight different KSSE sub-zones. Their combined value is PLN 130m (€31m), and they are expected to bring a total of 140 new jobs. In the words of KPT chief executive Wieslawa Kornas-Kita, the numbers testify to the zone’s continued high attractiveness for investors.
