Federal Mogul to add 100 more jobs in Gorzyce?

Federal Mogul, the US auto parts manufacturer, is planning to further expand its factory of pistons for combustion engines in Gorzyce (Podkarpackie voivodship), in the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone, Puls Biznesu has leant.

The US firm reportedly filed an application for a government grant in support of an investment project worth PLN 166m (approx. €38m) and expected to create 100 new jobs. The government’s panel on state aid has already given its approval, though the news have yet to reach the US firm, according to a source on the panel.

Federal Mogul acquired the plant in 2001 as a result of its acquisition of WSK Gorzyce. Over the past one and a half years it implemented three investment projects there. The latest one, approved in December 2011, is worth PLN 40m (€9.1m) and was expected to produce 10 new jobs. (The factory employs over 1,000 people.)
