UK consortium to build shopping centres in small cities

A three-way consortium of NBGI, a London-based PE/VC group, Claybark, a property development boutique focused on Poland, and Balmain Asset Management, a UK specialist retail property investor with a focus on British, German and Polish markets, will invest in the construction of shopping centres in smaller Polish cities with 50,000-60,000 inhabitants, Claybark’s Harvey Curtis told Puls Biznesu. Its first project is about to commence in Starachowice (Swietokrzyskie voivodship). It will be a 17,600 m2 shopping centre anchored by Tesco, expected to open its doors in 2014. The value of the project is estimated at €25m.
