8 December saw the opening of E. Leclerc's15th outlet since the start of its operations in Poland. The new facility in Tychy (in the Slaskie voivodship) is the chain's third supermarket with sales area amounting to 2,000 m2. The total sales area of E. Leclerc-owned outlets in Poland has thus increased to 73,500 m2. The value of the investment in Tychy amounted to PLN 25m (€5.7m), while the combined investments of the French retailer in Poland exceeded PLN 1.13bn (€257m). In addition to the three supermarkets in Tychy, Belchatow and Klodzko, the retailer also runs a chain of 12 hypermarkets, three of which are in Warsaw, two in both Lublin and Olsztyn, and one each in Radom, Lodz, Wroclaw, Elblag and Rzeszow each. On top of this, the group also runs a network of four petrol stations in Olsztyn, Rzeszow, Radom and Lublin (opened 18 December), with two further facilities currently under construction.
