Nestle announces PLN 100m investments in 2012


Nestle, the global food company, plans to invest over PLN 100m (approx. €24.1m) in its Polish operations in the course of this year, in a programme that combines technological upgrades and capacity extensions, Pierre Detry, CEO of Nestle Polska, announced. The investments are part of Nestle’s updated global growth strategy until 2013.

As part of the programme, Nestle Polska will spend PLN 60m (€14.4m) to enlarge its sweets factory in Kargowa (Lubuskie voivodship), which will create over 100 new jobs; it will also spend PLN 34m (€8.2m) in new technologies and processes at its plants in Kalisz (Wielkopolskie) and Rzeszow (Podkarpackie).

In 2011 Nestle Polska generated revenues of PLN 2.7bn (€650m). For 2012 it is forecasting a 5% rise in sales.
