Unilever, the FMCG group, on 8 February initiated an expansion of its factory of body and hair care products in Bydgoszcz (Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship). The project is worth €23m and is expected to create 100 new jobs.
The investment will almost double the plant’s annual output, to 340 million pieces from 190 million at the moment. The new production lines are to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2012 and to reach full operating capacity in Q1 2013.
Unilever acquired the Bydgoszcz plant (then Pollena) from the state in 1991. At present it employs 541 people, including 390 permanent workers, and sells 87% of its output on export markets.
