Skanska enters northeastern Poland with PUDiZ acquisition

Skanska, the Swedish construction and property group, has received antitrust approval to acquire PUDiZ, a Polish road construction specialist based in Olsztyn. The value of the transaction, which also covers WMPD, a PUDiZ subsidiary, was not disclosed.

Krzysztof Andrulewicz, President of Skanska Poland, said the deal would help the group to enter a new geographical area of the Polish market and strengthen its position as a general contractor for road construction projects in the northeastern part of the country. PUDiZ is a financially stable company with a full range of services for road projects, he said.

PUDiZ employs 450 people. In 2010 it generated revenues of PLN 160m (approx. €40m).

Skanska Poland is one of the largest construction companies in Poland, with a staff of about 7,500 people and 2010 revenues of SEK 9bn (€1bn).
