FDI inflows up by 29% y-o-y in January-October


In the first 10 months of 2011 foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Poland reached €9.048bn, according to preliminary data from the National Bank of Poland (NBP). The figure represents an increase of 29.3% versus the same period a year earlier.

The news coincided with the announcement by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) that FDI projects finalised by the Agency between January and November (51 in total) are worth €1.135bn, up by 87% over a year earlier, and are expected to bring 10,117 new jobs, up 8% y-o-y.

The PAIiIZ is currently working on 159 new projects (up 30% y-o-y), with the combined value of €6.48bn and with the potential to create over 42,000 jobs.
