Privatisation revenues at PLN 13.5bn in 2011 to date

Revenues from privatisation reached PLN 13.5bn (approx. €3.3bn) so far this year, which represents 88% of the annual plan of PLN 15bn (€3.6bn), treasury minister Mikolaj Budzanowski told a news conference on 14 December. He added that there was a chance that the realisation rate would reach 90% before the end of the year, assuming antitrust approvals for several deals.

At the same time, Mr. Budzanowski revealed some details of his privatisation strategy for the coming years, due to be unveiled early next year. He vowed he would continue the rapid privatisation programme pursued by his predecessor Aleksander Grad, with a total of about 300 companies expected to be sold off during 2012-2013. As in previous years, some major firms will be sold through the Warsaw Stock Exchange. For 2012 the ministry plans the IPOs of ZE PAK, the power group, or Polski Holding Nieruchomosci, the real estate holding company, for example.

Cumulatively over the past four years privatisation revenues amounted to PLN 43bn (€10.4bn), with a peak of PLN 22bn (€5.3bn) in 2010.
