Brembo, an Italian manufacturer of brake systems, has completed a major expansion of its factory of brake discs in Dabrowa Gornicza (Slaskie voivodship), in the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE). The value of the project is €105m. The expanded facility, officially inaugurated on 14 October, consists of two cast-iron foundries and 39 assembly lines, takes up a total area of 90,000 m
2, and employs 1,200 workers.
Alberto Bombassei, CEO of Brembo group, said its factories in Dabrowa Gornicza and Czestochowa (also in Slaskie) played a central role in its strategy for the coming years.
Brembo has 35 production sites in 15 countries on three continents and employs more than 6,000 people. It entered Poland in 1995, when it opened a factory of brake calipers in Czestochowa. The Dabrowa Gornicza plant started operations in 2003, and has since undergone two major expansions, making the country Brembo’s second biggest manufacturing base after Italy.
