Heineken to locate BPO centre in Poland?

Heineken, one of the world’s leading brewers, is considering Poland as a potential location for a new BPO centre, Puls Biznesu reported. The facility would provide finance & bookkeeping support and would employ 200-250 people.

The Dutch group is reportedly looking at four candidate sites: Katowice, Krakow, as well as Budapest and Bucharest. According to sources close to the project cited by the newspaper, Heineken representatives visited both Krakow and Katowice in June, and Poland is an odds-on favourite for the project, though there are conflicting accounts as to which of the two cities has a better chance.

The BPO sector is among the strongest-represented industries on the list of new foreign direct investment projects piloted by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ).
