BIEC: GDP growth to fall temporarily below 3% in 2012

The Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles (BIEC) has lowered its growth forecasts for the Polish economy in 2011-2013, amid weaker prospects for global growth. The Bureau expects the pace of quarterly economic growth in Poland will slow down steadily until mid-2012 (while remaining firmly in positive territory), before picking up from Q3 2012 onwards. As a result, in 2011 GDP growth is forecast to be 4.1%, in 2012 it is projected to fall to 2.7%, and in 2013 it is to recover to 4%.
