Warsaw is world's 12th most popular office location

Warsaw ranks in 12th place among the world's most popular locations where multinational corporations choose to locate their offices, according to a survey by CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), the property consultants. A new report from the company, Business Footprints. Global Office Locations 2011, shows that of the 280 global companies in its survey sample, 150, or 53.6%, are present in the Warsaw office market. This makes the Polish capital the fifth most popular location for office presence in emerging markets. The four emerging-market locations ranked above Warsaw are Shanghai (172 companies, 61.4%), Moscow (170, 60.7%), Beijing (169, 60.4%), and Dubai (157, 56.1%).

Warsaw is also one of just three cities outside Asia-Pacific that attract more than 70% of companies from the industrial goods and services sector (the others are Dubai and Moscow).

In the words of Joanna Mroczek, Head of Research & Consultancy at CBRE Poland, the findings demonstrate that Warsaw has become one of the leading business centres in Europe whose importance for global corporations matches the most developed cities. Many smaller firms are set to follow in their wake, indicating further growth potential of Warsaw and Poland at large, she noted.

The survey compares the presence of 280 companies in 232 cities in 101 countries.
