Government adopts PLN 730m investment support programme for 2011-2020


The government on 5 July approved a “Programme for the Support of Investments of Importance to the Polish Economy 2011-2020”, worth PLN 727m (approx. €184m) over the next 10 years. The objective is to facilitate direct investments that improve the competitiveness of the Polish economy.

The programme, coordinated by the Ministry of Economy, prioritises the following sectors: automotive, electronics, aviation, biotechnology, business services, and research and development. The funds will also be available for manufacturing investments in other sectors, worth at least PLN 1bn (€253m) and expected to create at least 500 jobs.

It is estimated that the investment projects supported by the programme will bring more than 32,000 new jobs directly and about 8,000 indirectly.
