Bridgestone to locate BPO centre in Poznan

2011-05-17

Bridgestone, the Japanese tyre maker, will open a back-office centre in Poznan (Wielkopolskie voivodship), the city authorities announced. The unit will provide finance and accounting support for the group’s operations in various locations. Poznan saw off competition from Brussels, which is home to Bridgestone’s European headquarters. The centre will employ 115 staff, with an option to add more jobs at a later date as its scope of operations expands.

The news comes three months after Bridgestone Diversified Products announced plans to invest PLN 130m (approx. €33m) to build a factory of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) film for the renewable energy sector in Zarow (Dolnoslaskie voivodship), in the local subzone of the Walbrzych Special Economic Zone, bringing at least 67 jobs. Last year Bridgestone announced a major investment in tyre-making capacity in Poznan.
