Belgian-German steel maker submits bid for SSN assets

Teleskop, a company with Belgian-German capital, wants to build a factory of large-scale steel structures in Szczecin harbour, Polish Press Agency reported. The company has submitted an offer for the entire 50 hectare site and most assets of Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa (SSN), the bankrupt state-owned shipbuilder, which are being offered up for sale by the Treasury.

In the words of Teleskop’s Pawel Wagner, the firm plans to invest €20m in the project by the end of 2020 and to create about 1,000 jobs. One of SSN’s three ramps would be leased for making steel structures for a future road and rail tunnel linking Germany and Denmark.
