Toyota’s Dolnoslaskie plant to halt production for 8 days due to quake

Toyota announced that it will curb production at its factory of diesel engines in Jelcz-Laskowice (Dolnoslaskie voivodship) in the coming weeks, as a result of supply disruptions caused by the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last month. The company’s factories of car engines and gearboxes in Walbrzych will not be affected.

The Jelcz-Laskowice plant, along with four other Toyota factories (two in the UK and one each in France and Turkey), will suspend production three times over the next three weeks, first on 21-22 April, then from 25 till 29 April, and finally on 2 May.
