ProLogis to open new logistics facility in Wroclaw in 2011

ProLogis, the global provider of distribution facilities, is again investing in new warehousing space in Poland, Puls Biznesu reported. The US company plans to build 20,000 m2 of space in Wroclaw by the end of the year, in what will be the first phase of its fifth logistics park in the Dolnoslaskie voivodship.

This reflects falling vacancy rates at its Polish facilities (as well as in the Central Europe region as a whole). In 2010 ProLogis signed lease agreements in Poland for 656,000 m2 of space, up by 114% compared with 2009. More than 60% of all agreements completed by the company in Central Europe last year were in Poland. As a result, the vacancy rate at its Polish parks is down to 17%. The average vacancy rate for the Central Europe region is even lower at 13%. Therefore, apart from the Wroclaw project, ProLogis will also add 22,400 m2 of new space in Prague in 2011.
