Best Western expands Polish hotel network with entry into Warsaw market

Best Western, the leading global hotel chain based on the franchise model, plans to have at least 10 hotels in Poland by the end of the year, Saija Kekkonen, CEO Managing Director Best Western Hotels Finland, Baltic States and Poland, told Gazeta Wyborcza.

The comments came as the company inaugurated its first hotel in Warsaw. The three-star, 227-room, PLN 12m (approx. €3m) Best Western Hotel Felix in the capital city will among other things serve visitors during next year’s Euro 2012 football championships.

At present Best Western has eight hotels in Poland (the others are in Bialystok, Bialowieza, Katowice, Krakow, Osjakow, Wroclaw and Rzeszow). Talks are currently underway with new potential franchise partners.

The Best Western family consists of over 4,000 hotels in 90 countries.
