Victaulic scales up investment at Polish foundry

Victaulic, a US manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, has decided to increase to PLN 55m (approx. €13.7m) from PLN 45m (€11.2m) the value of an ongoing modernisation programme at its manufacturing facility in Drezdenko (Lubuskie voivodship), reported. The project is to make the plant the most modern and eco-friendly ductile iron foundry in Central and Eastern Europe.

In March the company launched the first of two DISA moulding lines that will be installed as part of the project. As a result of the investments, the plant will become fully-automated, with bigger production capacity and lesser environmental footprint at the same time.

According to earlier reports, the modernisation is scheduled to be completed in August 2011.

The Drezdenko foundry makes ductile iron products for the global market.
