Opel increases employment in Gliwice

Opel’s plant in Gliwice (Slaskie voivodship) will move 60 temporary workers into permanent jobs this month, amid rising output and stabilising market conditions, Rzeczpospolita reported.

In October the plant will start making a new three-door Astra, and in 2013 it is scheduled to launch production of a new cabrio version of Astra IV. According to Andrzej Korpak, Managing Director of General Motors Manufacturing Poland, in 2011 output at the factory will reach 176,000 vehicles, an increase of 11% compared with 2010.
